What is pre-authorization?

When you rent a vehicle from us, we pre-authorize your credit card.
This is a sum of money temporarily blocked, but not debited, which serves as a guarantee for the duration of the rental.

Why do we pre-authorize?

Pre-authorization allows us to guarantee :

• Payment in the event of damage to the vehicle.
• Costs not covered by the basic contract, such as changing the drop-off location or any fines.

This is common practice and essential to ensure a smooth rental experience for everyone.

How much will be blocked?

The amount depends on a number of factors, such as the type of vehicle you are renting. We always inform you of the exact amount before finalizing the contract, to avoid any surprises.

When will the money be released?

As soon as you return the vehicle to us in its original condition, we ask your bank to release the funds.
For your information, the release time depends on your bank, and can take from 3 to 15 working days. If you have a credit card, the process may be faster.

In the event of additional charges, the balance will be refunded within 5 to 20 working days.
